Throughout the journey of building our new church home, God has continually reminded us that He is guiding the work. These stories remind us that this building is not just construction — it is a testimony of faith.
If only we could remember vividly, as if it just happened yesterday, the many times and places God has led us through difficult and even perplexing trials — just as He did with the children of Israel.
Just as God was always with them, He has always been with us every step of the way and continues to be.
This building is not just a church or a place where we gather for fellowship and worship — it is also a miracle of faith from the very beginning, even right to where we are today.
One example that comes to mind happened when we were still meeting at Poplar Road.
One weekend we were in need of $5,000 in cash to meet a financial deadline for the coming Monday.
Pastor Hurlock, who was our pastor at that time, asked if the Sabbath offering covered the need. The answer was no.
As we sat in the pastor’s study discussing the situation, the seriousness of the moment was setting in.
Then there was a knock at the door.
When I opened it, two church members were standing there. One of them handed me an envelope.
I thanked them and brought it to the pastor. When he opened it, we saw something incredible.
Inside was exactly $5,000 in cash.
We asked them who gave them the envelope. They said someone they didn’t know handed it to them and simply said:
"Please give this to the pastor."
To this day we have no idea who that individual was.
Yes — a true story.
The same God who provided then is still providing for us today and will continue to provide until the construction of this building is fully completed.
